From there, Michigan State tallied 2 more unanswered goals in the final period to win the game by the 6-3 margin. Dean Chelios, A.J. Sturges, Torey Krug, Matt Crandell, Chris Fofar, and Matt Berry all tallied goals for the Spartans. Torey Krug added two assists for a three point night. Hayes had three assists on the night.

Will Yanakeff stood tall in net making 41 saves on the night. Ohio State out-shot MSU 44-34 for the game, but the margin was only 25-24 in the final two periods. State's PK got back on track going 6 for 6 on the night, and Torey Krug's goal was a power play marker, as State was 1 for 3 with the extra man.
